Who We Are

      
 

St Andrew’s Church is a community of people, young and old, brought together because we have discovered that Jesus is good news for everyone.

Here are some of the things that are important to us:

• We believe that every person, whatever their background, is created by God and loved by him.

• We believe that God has spoken to us in his word, the Bible, so that we might know him and live in a way that pleases him.

• We believe that in Jesus Christ, God stepped into his world so that we might see what he is like.

• We believe that life is only truly found when our relationship with God is healed and that can only happen when we trust that Jesus died so we might be forgiven.

• We believe that God knows what is best for every part of our lives: our speech, our work, our relationships, and our distinctive roles as men and women; so we seek his help to live in a way that honours him.

• We believe that God answers our prayers and by the help of his Spirit enables us to be more like the people he wants us to be. 

We have therefore made three commitments that shape what our church is about.

Reach Leyland together

We love being a part of our town here in Leyland, so we are committed to working with others to help our town to thrive. We believe that sharing the good news of Jesus with the community is central to that.

Grow like Jesus together

We know that our church is not the finished article and our lives are as messy as anyone else’s. We are therefore committed to listening to the Bible together and helping one another to see how God can use every experience we encounter or endure to make us more the people we are meant to be.

Send workers together

We enjoy being together. We also want to help people go to wherever God may take them, so that more and more people come to know what Jesus has done. We are committed to training and resourcing people to share the good news of Jesus all around this country and across the world.
