Sunday Service - Sunday 26th April

On Sunday we are looking forward to worshipping together even though we can't physically meet up together in the same building. At 10.30am, God willing we intend to broadcast a service for all to share in.

We hope meeting in this way will help us to be reminded that we belong to one another, and that families will take the opportunity to worship together wherever they may be.

Please find below the service information, including song lyrics, alternatively click here for the service sheet.
If you have one, it would be good to have a Bible close to hand, for the reading which is Luke 24:36-53 , or you can access the Bible reading online here

10.30am Sunday 26th April

Welcome and Introduction

Opening Prayer:

Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

Song: Come People of the Risen King

1.Come people of the Risen King
Who delight to bring Him praise
Come all and tune your hearts to sing
To the Morning Star of grace
From the shifting shadows of the earth
We will lift our eyes to Him
Where steady arms of mercy reach
To gather children in

Chorus
Rejoice rejoice let ev'ry tongue rejoice
One heart one voice
O Church of Christ rejoice

2.Come those whose joy is morning sun
And those weeping through the night
Come those who tell of battles won
And those struggling in the fight
For His perfect love will never change
And His mercies never cease
But follow us through all our days
With the certain hope of peace

Chorus

3.Come young and old from ev'ry land
Men and women of the faith
Come those with full or empty hands
Find the riches of His grace
Over all the world His people sing
Shore to shore we hear them call
The truth that cries through ev'ry age
Our God is all in all

Chorus

Confession

Lord God, we have sinned against you; we have done evil in your sight. We are sorry and repent.  Have mercy on us according to your love. Wash away our wrongdoing and cleanse us from our sin. Renew a right spirit within us
and restore to us the joy of your salvation, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Creed:

We believe in God the Father, who has revealed his loving kindness to us, and in his mercy saved us - not for any good deed of our own, but because he is merciful. We believe in Jesus Christ, who gave himself up for us to free us from our sin, and set us apart for himself - a people eager to do good. We believe in the Holy Spirit, whom God poured out on us generously through Christ our Saviour - so that justified by grace we might become heirs with the hope of eternal life. Amen.

Sermon

Song: Your Hand O God

1.Your hand O God has guided
Your church from age to age
The tale of love is written
For us on ev'ry page
Our fathers knew Your goodness
And we Your works record
And each of these bear witness
One church one faith one Lord

Chorus
One church one faith one Lord of life
One Father one Spirit one Christ
One church one faith one Lord of Life
One heavenly King Lord of all

2.Your mercy never fails us
Or leaves Your work undone
With Your right hand to help us
The victory shall be won
And then with heaven's angels
Your name shall be adored
And they shall praise You singing
One church one faith one Lord

Chorus
