Sunday Service - Sunday 29th March

On Sunday we are looking forward to worshipping together even though we can't physically meet up together in the same building. At 10.30am, God willing we intend to broadcast a service for all to share in.

We hope meeting in this way will help us to be reminded that we belong to one another, and that families will take the opportunity to worship together wherever they may be.

Please find below the service information, including song lyrics, alternatively click here for the service sheet.
If you have one, it would be good to have a Bible close to hand, for the reading which is Luke 22:47-62, or you can access the Bible reading online here

Katy has also put together some questions and activities for families to do at home - see the details here.

10.30 am Sunday 29th March

Opening Prayer:
Leader: Let us give thanks to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ,
All: who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing.
Leader: Before the world was made, God chose us in Christ,
All: that we might be holy and blameless before him.
Leader: Let us praise God for the glory of his grace,
All: for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son.
Leader: To Father, Son and Holy Spirit
All: give praise and dominion, honour and might, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Song: How Great Thou Art
1. O Lord my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hand hath made
I see the stars I hear the mighty thunder
Thy pow'r throughout the universe displayed

Chorus:
Then sings my soul my Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art how great Thou art
Then sings my soul my Saviour God to Thee
How great Thou art how great Thou art

2. When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze

Chorus

3. And when I think that God His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die I scarce can take it in
That on the Cross my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died to take away my sin

Chorus

4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home what joy shall fill my heart
Then shall I bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim my God how great Thou art

Chorus

Confession:
Almighty God, our loving Father,
we have sinned against you, in wrong things we have done,
in loving other things more than you, and by living for ourselves rather than you. We are sorry.
Please forgive us.
We thank you for your Son, Jesus.
That he gives us his perfection and takes our imperfection.
Our trust is in him alone.
Please change us by your Spirit, that we might do what is right,
love you the most, and live for you this week.
Amen.

The Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ,
his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come
to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy universal Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.

Sermon

Song: All My Days
1.All my days I will sing this song of gladness,
Give my praise to the Fountain of delights;
For in my helplessness You heard my cry,
And waves of mercy poured down on my life.

2. I will trust in the cross of my Redeemer,
I will sing of the blood that never fails;
Of sins forgiven, of conscience cleansed,
Of death defeated and life without end.

Chorus
Beautiful Saviour, Wonderful Counsellor,
Clothed in majesty, Lord of history,
You’re the Way, the Truth, the Life.
Star of the Morning, glorious in holiness,
You’re the Risen One, heaven’s Champion
And You reign, You reign over all.

3. I long to be where the praise is never-ending,
Yearn to dwell where the glory never fades;
Where countless worshippers will share one song,
And cries of ‘worthy’ will honour the Lamb!
